CX3 stands for Communities of Excellence in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention. It is a youth –led effort in Escondido that measures the healthy food environment in our community and identifies opportunities for improvement. The goal of CX3 is to empower communities to work together and improve their neighborhoods to become healthier places to live, work and play.
About CX3 Project
CX3 Project (in collaboration with County of San Diego, HHSA) The youth (middle and high school age), have facilitated assessments of identified neighborhoods with regard to healthy food accessibility, safe and easy pedestrian walkability and then developed areas for improvement and change including recommendations. CX3 focused projects, present and past: Mission Middle School Community Garden Crosswalk on the Ash and Mission intersection, and a Mural Project along with Escondido Creek Trail. The CX3 youth also helped facilitate a Community Needs Assessment Process for North Inland.
