Helping Hands


Helping Hands (HH) is a teen volunteer club, composed of high school students, who want to make a difference in their community. The students meet twice a month to prepare for various community service projects throughout the month.

Helping Hands – A teen service club for high school youth that provides service learning opportunities at each high school campus. The club encourages service learning through addressing civic and social needs, and developing relationships and leadership skills among youth. Student will also be participating in special service learning projects, such as; Trick o’ treat for cans, Martin Luther King Day of Service, Cesar Chavez Day of Service, Senior Senior Prom, National Youth Service Day, Summer Leadership Academy Sock drive, Valentines for Vets and helping California Center of the Arts with their seasonal events and many more.

Kick Off

At the beginning of every school year the Helping Hands Officers who run the HH meetings throw a Kick-off event to recruit other students. The kick-off is a way for the students to get information about future meetings, get to know one another and get excited about serving their community.

Senior Senior Prom

Every year the Helping Hands students plan a Senior Senior Prom. It is the biggest inter-generational event of the year. The theme for the Senior Senior Prom of 2016 was the 1950’s! We partnered with the Park Avenue Community Center to host this fun-filled inter-generational event!  We look forward to next year’s prom!
