Bike/Walk Escondido

(In collaboration with Circulate San Diego) Bike/Walk Escondido provides a forum to listen, learn, discuss, and catalyze better walking and biking conditions in Escondido and to provide guidance to City staff on bike/walk friendly street design.

Building Bridges

A pilot program established to create a series of safety nets and services available to all of Escondido homeless youth population ages 15-24 and thereby circumvent instances of literal homeless and/or un-sheltered homeless youth. Done in part by providing viable youth engagement models through Street Outreach services including intensive case management, the provision of basic necessities, housing navigation, educational support, and work readiness training.

Crossing Guards

The Escondido School Crossing Guard program is a partnership between the Escondido Union School District, the Escondido Police Department and COMPACT to oversee crossing guards in the district. School crossing guards help students safely cross at key locations on their way to and from school.  Crossing Guards control traffic flow around schools in the morning and at the end of the school day.

Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS)

A program in Escondido works to empower and enable the youth within the community to actively commute to and from school safely.  Escondido Union School District in collaboration with Escondido Education COMPACT.
