Youth Court

  • Escondido Ciy Hall - Council Chambers 201 North Broadway Escondido, CA, 92025 United States (map)

High school students are invited to join COMPACT and the Escondido Police Department at Youth Court, a peer-to-peer justice program that serves a dual purpose: provide a service learning opportunity for local high school students to learn about the justice system and provide a second opportunity to youth offenders by processing their case through a peer court system.

Youth volunteers will be assigned to serve as jury members for individual cases and earn community service for their time. For those interested in learning more about the justice system, they may train to become youth attorneys (prosecution/defense). Training dates vary.

Any youth interested can drop by and volunteer anytime, no application or formal training needed to participate as jurors! Youth should expect to stay the full time and be picked up by a parent/guardian.
