The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) program serves Escondido, California, through the Coalition for Drug Free Escondido, a local coalition comprised of organizations and persons who are interested in working together to prevent youth access to alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs. The Coalition strives in promoting a healthy community through awareness, prevention, advocacy, and action. 

Coalition for Drug-Free Escondido Mission: To establish and strengthen community collaboration in support of local efforts
to prevent youth substance use.

Coalition for Drug-Free Escondido Vision: Healthy individuals, families, and communities free of
problems related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

Our Drug Free Youth Leaders help with prevention and education to reduce youth access to alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs.

Our Coalition conducts regular assessments of alcohol retailers to reduce youth access to alcohol.

The coalition works to create environmental policies that keep our youth and community safe and healthy.

Neighborhood Transformation Project

The Neighborhood Transformation Project (NTP) is a focused and coordinated community policing effort.

The Sober Truth On Preventing Underage Drinking ACT (STOP ACT) 

The STOP Act program was created to effectively reduce alcohol use among youth; focusing on student athletes.

Check out the Public Service Announcements (PSA) below, made by our DFC Youth Leaders over the years for the 420 Remix PSA contests!

420 Remix is a celebration of sober and drug free life choices. The North Coastal Prevention Coalition (NCPC), Vista Community Clinic (VCC), and partners host a yearly teen PSA and event at Boomers in Vista to share the contestant winners and enjoy a day full of drug free fun- celebrating drug free lifestyle choices!
